Shamanism class

The shaman are one of the most diverse magic users in the world. From Mongolia to the Americas, the shaman all operate on the same process—to unite with the spirits of the dead and nature. There are two main branches of Shamanism—Nature Shamans and Spirit Medium. Commonly found in Mongolia and America, Nature Shamans use their spirits to reinforce weapons, armor and one’s own abilities. A spirit medium summons the dead from Soul Society for a short time period. Regardless, both operate the same way in combat.

CHAPTER 1: History of Shamanism

Mongolian shamans were bred on the steppes in the process of nature worship. Some medicine men gained the ability to communicate with nature spirits and make them under their control. However, rival tribes went against each other, so the Chinese Magus and exorcists were able to defeat them in times of war. However, in the southern Song Dynasty, a Warrior named Temujin managed to unite all the shaman and tribes of Mongolia. Unified they were a great threat—to the demise of the Chinese Magus. The shamans quickly united most of northern China (and later southern China, with difficulty) under the Yuan Dynasty. Then the “golden Horde”, led by Temujin (now called Genghis Khan) swept west, defeating the summoners and djinn of the Arabic sultans, even eventually wiping out a whole wing of the Hungarian Knights Templar, the most elite of the Quincy. Fortunately, the Magus Society formed a temporary Alliance in Europe—and even with the holy church in Constantinople, managing to wipe out the Mongolians after Genghis Khan’s death. However, shamanism has persisted in much fo Mongolia, adapting to Chinese and European abilities. It also attempted to invade Japan, but the three great magus families of Japan: The Tohsaka, Matou (formerly Makiri) and Asakura families superbly defended. And here we turn to the Japanese Shaman. The Tohsaka and Matou are in essence Pure Magus, but the Asakura clan was shamanic. Found in Japan and in some areas in Israel, Arabia and China, the Japanese spirit mediums were at first started by bhuddist warrior monks who seeked to attain Nirvana. This spread from India to China, Korea and Japan, allowing the (temporary) revival of the dead. However, this is almost impossible to obtain, and so only a small amount of people (less than 500) are alive in Asia.

In America, separated from Society, the American Shamans of the Patch, Seminoa and others were focused in the southwest and great plains. In the east, the Iroquois shaman were quickly eliminated by French and English Magus, who in their rivalry in Europe had greatly advanced their abilities to murder. This they did brutally after the America became independent, pushing out the Patch, who retreated to their own secluded refuges. The seminoa attempted to resist, and were killed by U.S. Army soldiers, now trained to counter Magus and Shamans. With the rise of technology, American Shamanism was forced into hiding.

The ultimate goal of a shaman is to obtain the great spirit—the most powerful spirit in the world, commonly known as God. This is decided every 500 years, where the shaman tournament is held in patch village. Shaman and Magus Alike flock in an event more spectacular than the Holy Grail war in the fight for the Great spirit.
